Former Va. ACLU Head Pleads Guilty in Child Pornography Case
Charles Rust-Tierney, former ACLU Chapter President and former Arlington County youth sports coach, pleaded guilty to charges that he purchased child pornography so graphic that prosecutors called it "sadistic."
Rust-Tierney admitted that he accessed more than 850 pornographic images of children as young as 4, including a six-minute video depicting the sexual torture of children. Authorities said Rust-Tierney used a computer in his 10-year-old son's bedroom to view the files.

Respected Child Psychiatrist Arrested for Child Molestation
William Ayres, a child psychiatrist who once headed the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, was arrested on charges that he molested male patients. Ayres is charged with 14 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.

Child Molester Wanted By the FBI
Jon Savarino Schillaci is a convicted sex offender. While in prison (charges: aggravated felonious sexual assault, felonious sexual assault and child pornography) he convinced a family with two children to take him in and allow him to live in their home after his release. He is now wanted for the alleged sexual assault of this family's young son.

Former ACLU Chapter President Arrested for Child Pornography
Charles Rust-Tierney, 51, a youth sports coach in Arlington County who is also a past president of Virginia's American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) chapter, was arrested Friday and charged with receiving and possessing child pornography. He served as president from 2002 through 2005.

Alibris is now selling this book through association with Amazon.com. The book has been published by a subsidiary of Amazon, BookSurge.
Amazon have been informed of the contents of this book and claim it is a freedom of speech issue. Absolute Zero members are therefore sponsoring a boycott on Amazon:

Trio Arrested In Horrific Child Porn Bust
A Pennsylvania man and two women have been charged in a 53-count indictment with producing child pornography after more than one million images were recovered from a Delaware County computer.
"These defendants allegedly manipulated and abused children, even infants, to satisfy unimaginable perversions and they did it again and again and again," said U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan during a news conference on Thursday.

Petitions to "Flickr" Photo Sharing
(AFoL) In response to people misusing photos of children, some Flickr members have gotten together in an attempt to motivate Flickr to do something about a number of problems:
- People can steal and repost your public pictures, represent them as their own, or misuse them in other ways - like circulating them to pedophiles.
- Pedophiles can make a list of "favorites" (their favorite pictures) and pick and choose nude photos of adults and children from other members to make this list. Thus, what might have been a cute photo of your kids in the bathtub is now sandwiched between someone doing a striptease and someone else at a nude beach.
- Free accounts can be had without providing much information - so when a pedophile is suspected, there is little confidence in the community that the police will be able to track that person down.
The petition suggestions boiled down to this: Flickr needs to insure some sort of accountability, for the purpose of verifying name and address.
More and more of my pictures have become viewable only to friends and family. There's a good reason for that. I feel it would be a breach of trust to make all of those photos public. I feel I would be shirking my responsibility.
If I were to petition Flickr, I would ask a few things of them:
- I would like to hear if they are continuing to consider possible solutions to the problem. And I would like to hear what possible solutions are being considered.
- I would like them to include some sort of more visible community policing, like the ability to "down mod" a user and for other users to see this rating (related to dangerous behavior).
- I would like to see Flickr make use of some sort of "network of trust" in addition to Friends and Family. This trust network would exist for the purpose of allowing users to show that their presence on Flickr is a safe one, according to the people in their trust web. In other words, you are trustworthy if many trustworthy people also trust you."
Those suggestions do not mitigate the responsibility we individuals have to make sure that our own photos are not available for misuse - making the problem worse. Because there is very little we can do to prevent that once the photos are "out there." If this is a shock to people, that's only because this new world of open sharing is not all that it seems to be, and the sooner people understand the pitfalls and responsibilities, the better.
As another Flickr user has suggested,
1. Think before you post. Who might view your image? Could it offend someone? Could someone use it in a way you might disapprove of?
2. Keep an eye on your photos and know who's marking them as favourites.

Campaign to Get Jonathan King Removed From the BPI' "Man of the Year" Honour
If you're unfamiliar with Jonathan King, you're still familiar with his work. He's been a colorful svengali in the music business for over 30 years now. Among his many achievements, King was the brains behind the "original" boy band, The Bay City Rollers. He's also produced many Brit Awards ceremonies, sued the Pet Shop Boys, masterminded the UK entries in the annual Eurovision contest, and has had several UK chart singles under a variety of monikers.
Oh, yeah, and he's also a convicted paedophile. This is where the story gets interesting.
On Nov. 24, 2000, King was charged with 3 sex offenses against two underage boys which dated back 32 years. Sentenced to seven years in prison, King was paroled in 2005. For his part, King has maintained his innocence via a number of interviews and on his official website. Since his release, King has campaigned extensively for prison reform and has attempted to regain his credibility in the public forum.
However, one of his purported victims is now speaking out. Kirk McIntyre was a small child when he claims he was abused by both King and BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Denning (who has also been convicted of paedophilia offenses.) Stories are abundant of a paedophile ring involving King and Denning, along with Rollers manager Tom Paton and DJ Rob Randall, who allegedly used the Walton Hop teen disco in the 70's as a grooming ground for young victims.
Denning, currently serving a four-year prison stint in the UK, had up until recently escaped his charges by moving to Slovakia and countries with lax age-of-consent laws. Randall was convicted of child abuse in 2002; Paton was brought up on charges but never convicted.
Now, with the help of none other than Creation/Poptones founder Alan McGee, McIntyre is using a Myspace account to shed light to his plight and encourage people to sign a petition to revoke King's BPI "Man of the Year" award, arguing that BPI is now associated with many programs of music therapy for children.
From the moment McIntyre started this petition (link here), he has endured an endless torrent of the most vilest online abuse, harassment, intimidation and even threats of violence, made by male and female sex offenders and their supporters. We ask you all to support the petition to have King removed from the BPI honour Roll. Many thanks.

It's About "Love", They Say
The politicized "childlove" movement isn't going to just go away. Everyone from religious extremists to gays to atheists have learned how to speak the language of the oppressed, and child molesters are learning it too.
Unfortunately, it is not worthwhile to attempt to rationally discuss the issue with these people, as most of their arguments are pure rationalization of their urges.
The following text from a Czech pedophile site is one example.
"You can try the truth! Tell your child lover the facts and do not spare her/him. Tell them that if they reveal your sexual relationship, their parents probably would not understand. If you love your child-lover tell her/him so early and often. Explain that the world has problems with admitting sexuality. Tell the child that people often wrongly think that sex is bad or dirty, but that is a faulty way to think. Point out your relationship with her/him as proof. Tell the child that sex is a beautiful, natural thing that people often do when they care about or love another. Repeat your feelings about the child at this point to set her/his mind at ease. If you are already having sex with your child-lover, ask her/him HOW what you are both doing could possibly be bad or wrong. The child will have no good answer, since it probably feels good to the child ...
The close-mindedness on sex and in particular regarding sex between adults and kids often does plenty of harm to many children. It is important to understand that the cause of harm is GUILT, SHAME, and phony self-defeating religious brainwashing ...

Used, Abused, But Paid For: Not a Victim?
Justin Berry embarked on his sordid journey into the world of pedophilia and drugs when at 13, he acquired a web camera. A lonely kid of a divorced family without many friends, Berry hoped to use the device to make friends his own age. Instead, a pedophile sent him an instant message within minutes of Berry's image landing on a web site.
Berry began receiving offers of gifts from adults in exchange for disrobing on webcam. He then set up a wishlist on Amazon and received items from the list in exchange for webcam performances.
"At 13, I believed these people were my friends," Berry said.
"They were kind. They complimented me. They wanted to know about my day."
Requests for Berry to perform on camera gradually became more explicit at the request of viewers.
Soon, men began to reach out to him repeatedly. In 2002 one of them took him to his apartment, where they engaged in oral sex. He attempted to convince Berry he was homosexual and he had to "try it." Later that year, the same man drove him to Virginia to have sex with a girl who was either 12 or 13.
By early 2003 (at age 16), Berry's online affiliations began to interfere with his offline life. Berry explained that he "progressively became corrupted and acted in shameful ways." He "came to only care about the money that could be made."
Berry's story of a lonely teenager who sought friends on the Internet but instead grew rich attracting pedophiles was reported in December by the New York Times after a six-month investigation. Its author, Kurt Eichenwald, told the Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday that Berry is the first such teenage witness known to turn over such a vast cache of evidence to the government.
But even Berry's catalog of his clients' names, credit-card numbers and other details has resulted in only one arrest, he and Eichenwald said. "From the time that the government was notified of Justin's information to the point where the children in direct danger were saved, more than 50 days passed," Eichenwald told the panel. "Some people identified as perpetrators literally could not get themselves arrested if they tried."
It is important to note here that the boylover (paedophile) community does not view Justin as a victim but, to use their word, a "whore." Some of them have gone as far as setting up websites to gather information to use against him; or posting on blogs, forums and online encyclopedias to vilify him.
So much for "boy love."

The ACLU Connection
"Why is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) protecting adults who are having and promoting sex with children? Why are they attacking the Boy Scouts, and protecting NAMBLA? Shouldn't we be questioning what the relationship is between NAMBLA and the ACLU, before any of us donate any money to their causes? Do their causes protect us and our children?
